Four Factors that favour Dictators all over the World

All dictators have something in common. These things they have in common are the instruments that sustain them in power. With regards to the recent political development in the Arab world, some of these things have been exposed and an opportunity has called to work on them.

Who is a dictator? It is important to answer this question. This is because all over the world today, dictators no longer accept they are. They portray themselves as patriotic citizens of the countries they hold in bondage. A dictator is one who has absolute power through force or irregular way. He is one who manipulates leadership process to perpetuate himself in power. Indeed, there are leaders across the globe with these qualities, even if they refuse to accept, we know they are. The most commonly used instruments of dictators include:

*        Intimidation:      From all indication, the duration of the dictators’ rule is directly proportional to his level of intimidation on the people. There is no atom of freedom in any society ruled by a dictator. How can there be freedom when opposition parties are not functional? When secret security operatives intimidate and kill people on daily basis? When responsible citizens flee the society in order to avoid assassination? However, when these things happens in any society, the leader may not accept but we know is dictator.

*        Lie against the Western World:     One of the factors that sustain dictators in power is lie against America and Europe. Even after a long time of independence, a dictator continues to blame the economic woes of his country on the imperialists. He does it noisily without minding that his billions of dollars stolen from this country can still be traced to Swiss banks.
*        Racial Superiority:       Events have proved that no race is superior to the other. Sparkly put, a race lacks what can be obtained in another race and vice versa. This promotes interdependence among different race. One of the most delicate lies the dictator tells his countrymen is that they are superior to the rest of the world. This special lie has sustained them in power for many decades.

*        Religious Sentiments: Religion should be differentiated from government. Dictators use the religious tools to extend their rulership. Religious liberalism should be encouraged against what the dictators do by calling a set of people infidels. Dictators preach religion more than the clerics. This should be checked.
