'Most powerful woman in US' steps down

One of the most powerful women in the United States is stepping down, and you've probably never even heard of her.

Alyssa Mastromonaco has held the title of White House Deputy Chief of Staff For Operation for the past eight years, and among her many responsibilities she was in charge of the president's schedule.

Essentially acting as the barrier between President Obama and the rest of the world.

She sat down with CBS This Morning's Charlie Rose for an exclusive interview and spoke about her power.

Mastromonaco may not appear as intimidating as expected.

Her size is often a source of amusement for the president. She says she has been compared to Sally Field in "The Flying Nun," but unlike Field, Mastromonaco doesn't really care if people liked her. Instead she only cares about Obama's legacy.

Now, after almost a decade of working with Obama, she is resigning, marking the departure of one of the last original members of the president's staff.

I'm sure her presence (and the jokes about her height) will be missed.
