TIME TO SHOW LOVE TO THE ENYIMBA CITY

TIME TO SHOW LOVE TO THE ENYIMBA CITY:

While coming into the Enyimba City from Port Harcourt city, there are three major routes connected to the Enugu-Port Harcourt Express way one can easily ply. These roads are:
-Obohia Road
-Uratta Road
-Port Harcourt Road.

To the best of my knowledge, none of these roads are motorable today. The last time I visited Port Harcourt Aba, I had to move to the extent of Crystal Park junction and National High School which is my alma mater to see the extent of damage myself. I equally went to Obohia Road. It was same road Chuba Okadigbo once commissioned a cosmetic work done on one side of it a few years ago. I did not visit Uratta Road but I saw grown bushes at the junction that connects it with Port Harcourt. It was a terrible sight.

Apart from these roads, other roads like Omuma Road, Ohanku, Eziukwu, Cemetery and Ngwa roads are nothing to write home about. In same visit, I passed through Ngwa road and was shocked to see one of the strongest roads in Aba in a pitiable condition. Ordinarily, flood deal with residents of Ohanku area on yearly basis. As a matter of fact, flood keep claiming people's houses and compounds. This problem of Ndiegoro area was there when Sam Mbakwe that ruled Imo State in the second republic was called the crying governor because of the environment. The Ohanku issue affects both indigenous and non indigenous compounds in the area. Ohanku road is a necessity.

Furthermore, the Aba-Ikot Ekpene road collapsed long ago. As a result, the trade between the old Cross River state and Abia is badly affected. I can't say how people move along that road today. There is no place good in Aba apart from these ones the governor has been doing one after the other. We appreciate his efforts.

Anybody that was born and bred in Aba should be concerned about what has become of this great city. The language we have to hear is the language of fixing Aba once again. We should be happy to hear that Port Harcourt road will be reconstructed. We should be happy if Obohia road is about to receive attention. We should rejoice if there is hope for Ohanku road to be done. We should jubilate if the entire Ogbor is handled well to link Akwa Ibom. The multiplier effects of these projects can settle any type of debt.

Abians, let us support any genuine effort of the government to get these done. The angels that plan to be governors of Abia State come 2019 should tell us how these enormous tasks can be undertaken. We should hear how they wish to raise funds for these projects.

However, it is our collective responsibility to support any government that has the plan of getting them done. I am neither a government agent nor a party member. I am a concerned citizen that wishes to see the city in which he was born and bred taking its rightful place. I am concerned with the restoration of the Enyimba city. Aba should be Aba again.

THIS IS THE TIME TO SUPPORT ABIA STATE.
